So, I'm not a huge Star Wars fan. I did enjoy the movies. I even saw the 'reissues' they did. However I refuse to own them on DVD. Now, I'm talking the original trilogy. I have no use for the recent 'trilogy', they tried way to hard, which makes me hurt cause I love Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor. Anyway, the reason I refuse to own them? Even tho I am not a huge Star Wars fan, I will not buy own any of the Lucasfied reissues. I want a remastered copy of the original. No added scenes with Jaba and NOTHING with Hayden Christensen. WTF they 'added' him in in the final scene? Fuck that. No seriously. Lucas I realize you want to suck the last damn dollar you can our of a franchise that made you a household name, but leave it alone. Only some of your most manic fans will buy every edition that you issue. But until you release the untouched version I want, you can bugger off.

*end rant*

You ever wanna watch the originals, just ask. I've got a (second) copy of the DVDs in the special tin. The DVDs are of the special edition, but the "bonus" (really the real reason to buy the thing) is the original movies, made from the Laserdisc masters.

yeah, but from what I understand he didn't remaster then. He's being a dick about it from all I've heard.

Yeah, it's a direct transfer of the LaserDisc version. No anamorphic, no remastering of the video or soundtrack. Total dickery. "Well you *saaaid* you wanted the originals! I don't need fans, anyways, I'm successful!"
