If you and I were to go to a (insert music store of choice) together, what is one CD that you would just insist I get?

Doesn't matter the genre, the only things I don't care for are gangsta rap and thrash metal. Otherwise alls fair.

No this is not a meme, it's an honest question. I have found in the last couple weeks that I do not have enough music, especially new music. I've been listening to the same stuff (tho I love it, everything does get old after awhile) and would like some new stuff. There are tons of CD's I've wanted for ages, I think it's time to start spending time on half.com or something.

How 'bout K.D. Lang's Hymn's of the 49th Paralell? I've been in love with that album ever since I bought for [livejournal.com profile] wooisme back in Micigan and I still love listening to it.

Ack. That apostrophe should not be in that title. I'm slightly embarrassed.

K.D. Lang huh? what little I've heard of her stuff hasn't really drawn me in, maybe I should listen to it some time when I'm over.

To be honest, I like Hymns more than her other albums. It's a bit different in feel I think, and it's also all (all but one anyway) covers of songs by other Canadian artists. Her takes on Leonard Cohen are fabulous. I'm sure Moira would be happy to let you have a listen or borrow it for a time.
