Ok, I’m Netflix's bitch

I've had my own Netflix account for over a year now. There are a lot of newer movies I would like to see, not enough that I was willing to pay for them in the theatre. But I would still really like to see them. Honestly, I don't remember most of them when I’m in front of a terminal to remember them.
So, please suggest to me 1-3 movies from the last 1 1/2 years that you really think I need to see. Doesn't matter the genre, I love all kinds of movies. And yes, I do enjoy sappy girl movies.

Date: 2005-04-02 03:12 pm (UTC)I would tell you to get The Incredibles, but I've only seen 20 minutes of it (good thus far). I rented it the other day and had to stop it to go pick up Chris. By the time I had the time to watch the rest of it, he had disassembled all of the cords and cables to the entertainment center and packed them. *sigh* Once we get moved in, I'm making him rent it again for me...

"Identity" is another one, and it has John Cusak in it, so yum. And... hmmmm... for m third choice: "Songcatcher". Aidan Quinn as a mountain man, lots of banjos, and old Irish music. :)

My folks used to order from them until they got a disc that came broken in the mail due to the combination of the postal service's poor handling of stuff, and the fact that Netflix doesn't guard their discs against damage at all.

Date: 2005-04-02 07:48 pm (UTC)I was wrong, i've had Netflix for over a year and a half. Posi has had his own for at least 3 years, maybe longer. He became a member before most people knew what netflix was. And no, i've never (nor Posi) had that problem. I think we have each, once, had a scatched disk we had to send back. But that's it. never got a shattered disk, or broken in any way other then excessive watching or mishandling of others who were renting it.

Date: 2005-04-02 10:22 pm (UTC)But.. going on the basis that you're not actually paying $4/rental
Lion King 1.5 was kinda cute for what it was
Dodgeball was surprisingly funny when I expected it to be god awful
Kill Bill.. I assume you've seen
The butterfly effect wasn't too bad - we got it just because Brathor HATES ashton kutcher.
I liked Harold and Kumar go to white castle enough to buy the dvd .. just a silly movie.
We just signed up for netflix too - Haven't watch it.. but we just got Oz Season 3! Blockbuster wouldnt carry it >.<
Other people mentioned some good movies but.. they've seriously got their years off... Memento was 2000.
