Well, it's officially mine

I duffed my Treo on the way into the apartment today. Didn't even have the bastard 24 hours.
Couldn't have been somewhere nice and soft, couldn't have bounced off something to soften the fall..nope right onto the concrete in front of the mail box. Scuffed a couple spots real nice on the side.
This is exactly why I wanted a holder for it to put it right into when I got it. But I haven't really found anything I know I'll be 100% happy with.
And I know it can't stay new forever. Just with the cost of this thing, I'd liked to have had it survive a month scuff free.
Otherwise, I bloody love this thing. The only problem I've found, is it doesn't want to hold my log in for LJ. Especially when i'm trying to comment or reply to someones comments. Fellow Treo owners, any idea?

Date: 2005-09-08 10:33 pm (UTC)The Treo 650 web browser supports cookies stored on the client. Session cookies are cleared 10 minutes after you exit the browser, or 25 minutes after your last interaction with the application.
It's probably that 25-minute time limit you're running into.

Date: 2005-09-08 10:36 pm (UTC)$30 bucks. It's bulletproof! But make sure all the parts are included in the package before you buy it. Apparently other patrons of Microcenter like to steal clips out of these packages. I just loved getting home only to find I had no fucking belt clip.

2. I got a Rivet Kingpin ($24.95 Radio Shack, $19.99 Best Buy) chain for it, so that if I fumble the phone while walking and surfing, it falls about as far as my knee. The Sidekick has a place to put a lanyard/wrist strap, and so the nylon loop attachment loops through there. The chain can be unhooked from the phone side. The chain is smooth so it won't scratch the phone if I put the loose chain into the pack. I hook the chain to a zipper tab. Rivet also makes belt clip and car attachment points.
3. Most of the time, I use a Body Glove earboom headset for talking, so I can leave the phone in the waistpack.

Date: 2005-09-08 10:52 pm (UTC)I'm planning on getting a nice set of vinyl skins for my Sidekick, maybe a nice woodgrain.
Look for screen protectors too, especially since you have a touch screen...you'll eventually wear into the screen with the stylus or your fingernail, and if you do, just peel off the protector and put on another one.
Do you have AIM? I'm now on AIM and Yahoo all the time on my SK. Email to my rustitobuck@ addresses get sent to it too.

Date: 2005-09-08 11:22 pm (UTC)I'm thinking of getting a skin case for it. I use it way too much at work to have much around it, but want to at least keep it from getting dinged up too much.
