The Receptionist No Called, No Showed today. Grr. I'm at the front desk for the second work day in a row. :P The boss is on vacation and the one person I'm supposed to be watching seems to also be out today. I hate Mondays.

Lots of people missing here at work too...too damn many people calling in for a national holiday. How come the wicked get to rest?

Her excuse? She didn't know if we had to work today. :P Oh, and she didn't have a babysitter, oh and she still isn't feeling good so maybe she'll go to the doctor. She left ME the VM. Maybe thinking I'll be cool. I can understand her being sick, I can understand her not having a babysitter. But her first and primary reason for not being here, I didn't know if we had to work! We will likely have to work the day after Thanksgiving and she's wondering if we are working today? Hell I was so unsure at one point I asked to make sure we were off Labor day. Aundrey is gonna be soo unpleased with this. I have second interview at that Gurnee place, hopefully for this week. I'd like to get it just to get the hell out of this mad house. :P Grrr.

I'd measure her comment about average from the intelligence I've been seeing today. Holidays seem to effect the brain worse than crack.

Obviously. This is DataHawk, not a happy camper. Altho I have to say the day is moving pretty well. We'll see what the afternoon brings. Life got a lot easier after coffee. :9

Ah, coffee that greatest of great mysteries to me. I wonder, would people drink coffee willingly if it didn't have caffine?

Or, do people learn to like coffee in response to the signals the caffine sends their brain?

Believe it or not hon, people do actually like coffe for the taste, not just the caffine. I myself, enjoy the taste but would have little use for it without the heavenly joy of caffine. :D

I like the taste of coffee! I don't really care much for the caffeine - I can get along without it just fine, really.

Hum, I've just never heard of people who voluntarily start drinking decafinated coffee. Seems people always start out with regular, and then switch.

To the best of my knowledge that's what my boss has always drank, decaff. I actually don't like the taste of decaff, the flavor is changed just enough the the process that I think it's kinda vile. Well, plus really what's the point without the caffine? :) I mean if you are gonna both, enjoy it. But that's my opinion and I understand my boss doesn't do caffine at all. Why? I have no idea...

Coffee

Coffee is generally an aquired taste. I know I started drinking it fairly young (around 10). I'd be the first one up and since my mother couldn't function very well without coffee in the morning, I usually made it. She couldn't very well object if I wanted some too. I seem to recall putting a fair amount of milk in it at first and then eventually started drtinking it black. My sisters didn't start drinking it until much later.

Yeah right.

The reason the lazy ass didn't have a babysitter is because she figured it would make a viable excuse when she decided she wanted to take the day off. She knew full well she should have been there and likely made no effort to arrange a baby sitter. I hope you plan to let the powers that be know she basically just didn't show up

For the most part she didn't. I didn't get a message from her til 10:15. She was suppose to be here at 8. I kept the message. She also knows full well that she should have left Pam a message. But her message to me asked that I pass it on to whomever should get it. Whatever. I'm sure she's certain I wouldn't snitch on her, or help cover her ass. BS. I understand being sick and she stayed home sick Friday, far be it for ME to give anyone grief over staying home sick. And had she started her message with the fact she still didn't feel well and was gonna go to the Doc, I'd been a touch annoyed but have understood. No, she started it with not knowing if she should be at work today. Even Pam questioned that. I saved the message, boss lady can listen to it when she gets back. Not my problem.
