I figured I'd do something so everyone would know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth yet...

So my life for the last couple of weeks...

This last weekend was DucKon.

DucKon was pretty fun. The furs were welcomed back with open arms of the con chair, if not necessarily everyone else. The track itself was great, Wyldekyttin did a really great job. All those who ran or helped with the panels, also did a fabu job. I myself was there to assist the con chair himself. Mostly making sure he ate at least once a day and made his panel's. I was talked into helping Kyttin in the scrap heap challenge, tho at first I thought I wouldn't be much use or have much fun, and ended up having a blast. My team was all girls (Wyldekyttin, [livejournal.com profile] werellamma, [livejournal.com profile] mistletoe and myself) and we had the best machine if I do say so myself. Our job was to toss this poor little ducky across the room, at least 10 feet. Distance ended up not bein the problem and we found ourselves only winning 'Most Tenacious'.

I did what I do best at con, hang out with friends and hardly go to panels. Tho I did see Uncle Kage's story hour, tried to get my fat butt to shake right for belly dancing (the teacher wasn't all that great) and attended most of the furry panels (so long as they didn't overlap anything else I wanted to do). Oh...and I built a Blinkee! Wyldekyttin and myself got up way to early Saturday morning (after being out most of the night drinking) to stand in line to wait to build a blinkee. She had wanted to wonder off for awhile, but it's a good thing we didn't, the line continued on behind us and most of them found themselves without blinkee's (they ran out of boards, again). I made a pass through the art show (No Mary Hanson-Roberts, so I was safe) and wasn't much else I had wanted..tho there were 2 really nice wolf pic's that said they wanted to come home with me.) A nice dinner with Kage and some running around saturday night (more drinking!) and a nice long nights sleep in an actual bed (thanks [livejournal.com profile] linnaeus) and more running around. Sunday is always more laid back. So in wandering around early in the day, i check past the big scrap heap challenge to find [livejournal.com profile] posicat had formed a team of himself, Tanuki, Tybis and Uncle Kage (ok the sight of my mate and Kage playing together scares me) and off to closing ceremonies. The challenge (which was to ge the duck out of a box, from at least 10 feet away) had to be completed for the group gathered, and Posi's team won! (on an interesting side not, the duckie they had pulled form the box was the exact one my team had used friday night). So with a quick, con's over, from the con chair Kyttin and I make a serious pass through the dealers room. We had tried several times that weekend to go through, but something always happened. So with 4 new toes rings (yay rings for my fat toes), a new ring for my finger, three new t-shirts and a ear cuff..well and 100 dollar more in debt to Kyttin, we closed the dealers room. Usually I find myself helping pack up one way or another, but had no interest in helping the one person who needed help. So several of use sat around the 3rd floor lobby area chatting and waiting for Uncle Vlad to finish so we could go get food. (yum, Outback. :9) A long night of chatting and a nice meal later and it's wow, already 10:30. Most everyone felt the need to head home. I needed to take Kyttin home and found myself to tired to drive back. So, now it's Tuesday and I'm still here. :D Ah well, A/C and cable leave a nice draw to a poor person.

So, it was a good weekend, if not just down right cool. Much niftiness. :D

Then about 2 weeks back. The WOLVES WON THE CALDER CUP!!!!!!!!!

Ok with that said. :) It's all good.

So, the Wolves did it. I can say, I never thought they would. Many a game went by, where the announcer (while making a pitch for the caldercup.com sight) would ask if they Wolves could win it.."Not likely!" "Not at this rate!" or just plain "No!" would be heard in response. Well, damn it, they did it. And I've never been prouder of my boys. This was the first year I was a season ticket holder, though I'd been a fan since there second season. I was around but not really into when they won there first two. But this one was amazing, I was actually AT the game. (Did I mention, this is there first season in this league?) I partied and partied and screamed and screamed. I never actually thought they would win it at home. But 2 minutes 5 seconds into there second over time (they had a 3 point lead, a hat trick by capitan Steve Maltais, and lost it) Yuri Butsayav score that fantastic game winning, cup winning, goal! The Wolves have never been known for doing a damn thing easy. :) And to top it all off, I drank from the cup. That night. The second cup this season, related to this team and the Atlanta franchise, that I have drank from on the night it was won. [livejournal.com profile] moryssa and I went to Dayton Oh to see the Wolves farm team The Greenville Grrrowl win there championship, and was able to drink from the cup. Ok...I'm babbling...but it's just too cool! :D .

Life is certainly good. :D

Ok, I think I've babbled enough for one day...I'll go find something else to use my energy on. Laters!!
