so pissing me off

Most of you know I dock my lap top, so I have a pretty pimped out desk set up. My computer has decided to do that fucking dual monitor thing again, which I never set it up to do. when I dock it and power it on, it's only supposed to see my monitor, not the laptop monitor. grr. make it stop!

Usually, you can change monitor mode via a function key on the keyboard. You will most likely have a 'function' key or similar that you need to hold down while you press another key at the same time. It's usually one of the 'F' keys, and will probably have a little picture of a monitor on it.

Should that fail, you may also be able to set the display configuration manually by using the 'display' icon within the control panel (usually accessible via start -> settings -> control panel).

Hope that helps....

There's a key around.. F6 or so that will say LCD/CRT or something, holding shift and hitting that *may* fix it, unless the computer has learned that is the proper way to display your screen..

In that case, you can right on your desktop -> properties, then either go into the standard settings.. or if you have a really nice laptop you may need to go into some special video card specific settings. There should be two screens. #1 is your 'main' #2 (the laptop) will have a check box - 'extend my windows desktop to this monitor'

I dock my laptop at work and get this problem frequently.
