Sooo tired
Sep. 14th, 2008 01:53 amSo yeah, the water is gone. Well, the standing water is. The garage looks like a demilitarized zone. It's just a mess. Hardly anything was near the place it had started. Even our large chest freezer. Yes, on it's back and opened. The plug behind it was toast, so we hoped with a working plug it may still work. So we currently have an extention running it. Luckily, about 75% of the stuff in the freezer is in Food Saver bags. There will be things that get tossed, but it's one less worry. We'd been meaning to get a new couch in the TV room, well I guess that'll be sooner rather then later. Most of the electronics survived.
My last post was in no means meant to sound like we were standing around picking our noses wondering what we were going to do next. But I was standing in from of my computer, literally dripping wet. I was a little disjointed, having not eaten for the better part of the day and having been moving large cars and stuff and water. It was more trying to figure out which direction to go next. It was bad, it is bad, but we'll get through. Everyone was in action in under 2 minutes of my waking them and actually were all in action, together, all day. In one fashion or another. If it was going to get burgers before we literally all fell out or picking up the most wonderful shop vac that shop vac has ever made (with water pump function!). Trudging through water, or shoveling around stuff in the main house so we could do stuff when we were in the main house.
Oh and very special thank you goes out to
linnaeus for the long trek he made here from the city, through just as much flooding as there is here, to do everything he could to help us muck things out.
