Who says I have spare time? :) So, I've been fairly busy as of late, which means of course I haven't had time to post much. Duncan and Taki were in town 2 weeks ago. That was a complete blast, of course. The highlight of the weekend (other then spending it with dear friends, Duncan, Taki, Rusty and Linnaeus) was sitting at the chef's table at Bucca Da Beppo's! That was just freakin awesome! :) Every waiter or waitress who grabbed food, stopped to show us what it was. Made ordering damn difficult. :) Had the MFF meeting that weekend of course, which was bearable cause they had an open Wifi, allowed me to grab Win Amp 5 and do some other minor putzing online. Plus allowed some of us to make some snarky comments when appropriate. :D
Gawd I really need to post more, so much to say but I don't want to spam anyone (myself included)
This weekend was mostly mellow. Well except the horrible weather/traffic coming back from the city Saturday afternoon. Was suppose to be home by 2 so Misti and I could met a group of Gaelic Storm fan friends of ours at Woodfield mall. I didn't get back til 3:30 or so. Hartree (who was being so kind to come get my car and haul it to Madison so dear Kitfox can hopefully fix it) was suppose to be here at about noon or so and didn't get til something like 5 or 6 (I wasn't home when he got here) cause of the weather. Anyway, Misti and I got to hop into her car to head out and Furp noticed a semi important thing...Misti's tire was flat. :/ (Oh, did I mention the snow had followed me from the city?) So Furp gave us a ride to Genet's place, after verifying she'd be able/willing to give us a ride back to my place. Well, in route to south we found more snow and a rail crossing where the gates were locked in the 'on' position with no train coming. THAT added time to our already tardiness. (Furp insisted Misti not drive her car on her flat tire, which I did agree with). We finally get to Genet's place (some 3 hours later then we wanted to be and 1 1/2 hours later then the group was meeting at the mall). The trip from Gen's place to woodfield was mostly uneventful, thank gawd, and we were finally there. *whew* We rushed around the mall, with a stop at Torrid (Torrid rocks!) to find they were having a sale of 50% off their red marked sale. Uhm, ok! Picked up a few things and rushed out for our 7 o'clock dinner reservations at The Curragh. :9 Damn I have found the best damn Corn Beef & Cabbage Boxty I have ever had. OHMYGAWD :9 2 Ciders and a Black Death (half cider, half Guinness) later, the better part of a pack of cigarettes, some cd's (including the Shank Hall show from Nov 15) & lots of convo's later and it was time to head home. I'll see most of the girls, yup girls, at the Gaelic Storm show Feb 7th. But Genet got us home at a reasonable time, for Misti and I at least. We sat up putzing online til I started dozing off. Misti and I had decided to head back to Woodfield the next day to check over the Torrid sale a bit better. As we were heading out the door I message Kyttin to see what she was up to and tell her about the sale. We were joined at the mall my Butter and herself. :) We closed the mall. Hartree joined us (after what ended up being a rather eventful evening & day, Furp's car broke down in Madison). Misti and I went off for our own food while the other 3 headed to meet Crim for dinner. I got a few cute things, some of which I hope to wear this weekend at Capricon. woo hoo, con time! :)
Yeah, i'll get bitched at for my lack of return usage in that. :)
So the week wears on. I gotta spend Thursday washing clothes and packing for the con this weekend, oh...plus the wedding... yikes so much to do and so little time. Story of my life. Oh, on a sadder note one of my rats has a lump on his side I have to have removed. :( It's gonna cost between 150 and 250 dollars to do it too. Hopefully it's not cancerous. :( Eh, I didn't need a winter jacket anyway...
Oh and I've been playing with some new pic's as well as I set up phone posting. I feel like I've actually done something altho I haven't. Damn that's a long post...
