Fall - The Season and not the act
Sep. 21st, 2012 12:54 pmFall has always been my 'Spring'. While most people view the Spring as the time of year for blossoming and new beginnings, I see Fall as such. Most of the major changes in my life have happened in Fall and or Winter. I was engaged and then married in the Fall, I decided to make the move in when Ohana was created in the Fall, and I honestly feel weird in the school year if I don't start during the Fall Semester.
And next weekend I add to my Fall events, I'll be making another big move. This time into the grand city of Chicago. Every move I have made since I was a small child had a fair significance. From the first apartment my mom and I had on our own, to my first apartment, to my first apartment with my exhusband, to the first place without my exhusband (later to be named Ohana), and this time to take the next big step with Paul.
Neither of us know how this will go, but we'd be dumb not to try. There is honestly a lot of certainity in this move. I'm more sure than I've been in any of my adult moves. I'm also the most nervous I've ever been.
Well, here's hoping we don't bomb. Cause hopefully Ohana has a replacement for me.

The final count down. I'm about to take down my desktop. I have my laptop out still, but I gotta get my desk cleared and torn down. I still need to pack a few things. I need to tear apart my bed. most everything else is about ready to go. I'll have to tear about my tv and stuff tomorrow. all i know, is thank GOD/GODDESS/WHATEVER GREAT ENTITY that we don't have to move the furniture. I can handle a few dozen boxes, for that stuff that we don't get ready. But screw the furniture.
Ok, taking down my desktop....the road continues.

Sep. 3rd, 2007 08:23 pmPacking is going well. Painting is going well. I need a weekend to recover from my weekend. I don't wanna go to work tomorrow. At least it'll be a normal 8 hours a day week.
Greatest thing ever, not having to move ANY of this furniture this weekend.
Worst thing ever, packing up my desk. When did I become a geek?!?
