Ok...

So, I have in my hot little hands a 5th gen iPod that does video. I also have in my hot little hands a 'player' that it plugs into. I also have a metric butt ton (yes that is an actual measurement) of dvd's of all sorts. What I do not have, are any of these videos on my iPod. I refuse to give Apple money for movies I already own. When I last posted I got the best suggestion of DVDFAB, however I can not bring myself to pay some 60 bucks for a dvd ripper. Does anyone any any additional ideas that cost less (or nothing) that is fairly simple and bug free? I just want to be able to pop some movies and maybe a couple eps of South Park on my iPod, so I can enjoy them on the plane and in the dealers room during down time.

try handbrake. I'm not sure if it let's you do video files, but it rips whole DVD's like a champ I can't speak to the stability of the windows version, but I've had no problems with the OS X versions. And hey. Its free

I've never used Handbrake - but I just came back to this post because I saw it recommended on dealnews
